Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 8: YOKOHAMA (ATC Tires AP Private Ltd) Tyres company located at Atchuthapuram partnered with The Social Lab (TSL) to construct a Water tank with a 10,000 Litre Capacity at MARTUR village as part of their CSR initiatives and provided 100 barricades to the local Police. The water tank was inaugurated by MLA(Yalamanchili) Kannababu and YOKOHAMA Plant Head Mr. Prahalad Reddy.
The purpose of the project is to replace an undersized, deteriorated, solitary water storage tank currently serving thousands of residents at Marturu village. Based on a detailed engineering evaluation of alternative solutions, the construction of a new and larger tank was determined to be the best option for the village inhabitants. The new tank will be connected to the existing water system developed years ago. The new Water Tank will provide access to clean drinking water to more than 1500 people in the village.
Further, Mr. Prahalad Reddy announced Yokohama’s support for the beautification and hygiene improvement for the pathway and surrounding areas close to Water Tank with a huge investment.
Other leaders involved in the opening ceremony include Village President Mr. Ramesh Raju, Plant HR Head Mr. Venugopal Addanki, YOKOHAMA CSR representative Ms. Rasmeet Kaur and TSL CEO, Mr Sahil Arora. The inauguration ceremony was hosted by the Yokohama team with participation from more than 100 village inhabitants.
Sahil Arora, CEO, TSL mentioned, “ We are extremely happy to partner with Yokohama Tyres for this impactful project; this will serve the needs of many people living in the village, providing them access to clean drinking water, which is a basic necessity”.
The ceremony ended with a Vote of Thanks to the participants and the distribution of Snack packets to all the participants.
