GHRT India Opens Registrations for India’s Highest Civilian Award
New Delhi (India), September 21: The prestigious Uttam Bharat Puruskar, India’s highest civilian award, is back to honor outstanding individuals who have left an indelible mark on society. GHRT India proudly announces the commencement of registrations for the Uttam Bharat Puruskar 2023, celebrating exceptional achievements and dedicated service to humanity.
Global Human Rights Trust (GHRT) is an international non-profit organization founded on January 30, 2021, in Jammu, India. GHRT is dedicated to implementing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights globally. Comprising members from various backgrounds, GHRT focuses on promoting good governance, advocating for rights-based policies, raising awareness, building capacity, and addressing human rights violations in India and beyond.
Registered under the Trust Registration Act 1882 and recognized by NITI AAYOG, GHRT is committed to upholding human rights principles as outlined in the Indian Constitution while working in all states of India to enhance understanding and awareness of human rights.
The Uttam Bharat Puruskar, presented annually by GHRT India, is a distinguished honor that recognizes individuals whose inspiring biographies are etched into the collective memory of people around the world. It celebrates the tireless efforts and significant contributions of those who have made a real difference in society through their dedication and hard work.
Uttam Bharat Puruskar is open to individuals from all walks of life without any distinction of race, caste, color, creed, culture, religion, occupation, position, or gender. Even serving government servants, including those in public sector units, doctors, and scientists, are eligible for this prestigious recognition.
The Uttam Bharat Puruskar spans diverse categories, including Art, Social Work, Public Affairs, Science and engineering, Trade and industry, Medicine, Literature & Education, Civil Service, Sports, Best HODs & Principals, and an “Others” category that encompasses fields not covered elsewhere. The Awards aim to recognize exceptional achievements and distinguished service in various disciplines.
Recipients of the Uttam Bharat Puruskar receive an array of honors, including an international membership package comprising an ID card, strip, car official logo, and holder. The award itself includes a certificate, trophy, and medal. However, it’s important to note that no monetary grant is attached to this award. A maximum of 120 awards can be given in a year, excluding posthumous cases and foreigners/NRIs/OCIs.
The nomination process for the Uttam Bharat Puruskar is open to the public, with self-nominations encouraged, and submissions are accepted online from September 1st to November 15th each year. The GHRT Committee, led by the Chairman of GHRT India and comprising directors from all states, evaluates recommendations, and final nominations receive approval from the Chairman and Secretary of GHRT India. The award is presented during a grand ceremony by a Union Minister, State Minister, or an available government official.
The nomination process is open to the public, and nominations/recommendations are invited online from 1st May to 30th September each year, with any extensions announced on the official website.
